Today's Offerings

Updated: Apr 20

First let me say, how fortunate are we for Livia’s offerings, especially the special ones from David Korevaar!

As to mine . . .

First is another literary offering that encourages a timely reading of Moby Dick.  This book, as many of you know, was written in the 1850s prior to the Civil War, another horrible event in our history.  This encouragement suggests a reading with a glass of scotch.

For those of you who are fans of David Carr, writer, New York Times critic, a wonderful perspective by Ta Nehisi Coates.

Finally, an article (don’t we all have a lot of opinions these days?) on how to deal with the anxiety and fears many of us are dealing with today.  Yes, there is nothing like a good routine for our sanity!  Along with the article is a light-hearted poem offered by a resident that may bring a smile – I hope so!

Routine by Arthur Guiterman

No matter what we are and who,

Some duties everyone must do:

A Poet puts aside his wreath

To wash his face and brush his teeth,

And even Earls

Must comb their curls,

And even Kings

Have underthings.

Much love,

Shirley
